New York City Guide | 10 NYC Rooftops You MUST Try This Summer

Cocktail hour is so much better when you have a great view to pair with it. In New York City, bars are everywhere, but rooftop bars, those are the hidden gems of the city. It can be hard sometimes to decide on which one you want to experience, so I crafted a list of some of my favorites that are definitely worth trying this summer. Check it out!

1. Mykonos Bleu- 127 W 28th St, New York, NY 10001

This elegant rooftop bar is a wonderful place to go to experience a mediterranean escape without leaving the city. Mykonos Bleu is on top of Hotel Hayden and has a gorgeous all-white interior along with an incredible view of the One World Trade Center and the NYC skyline in the distance.

2. Magic Hour at the Moxy Times Square- 485 7th Ave 18th floor, New York, NY 10018

Do you believe in magic?? Magic Hour is a unique cocktail bar for a gathering with friends or perfect for a date. This rooftop bar is located at the Moxy Times Square hotel and is decked out in a distinctive amusement park theme. Carousel seating, themed drinks, topiary gardens, a miniature golf course, and let's not forget about the view of midtown and the empire state building, you definitely can't go wrong coming here for a magical time!

3. RH Rooftop- 9 9th Ave, New York, NY 10014

This elegant, skylit, garden escape is located on the top floor of the Restoration Hardware Flagship Gallery. It is decorated with glimmering, beautifully lit chandeliers and countless London plane trees. The restaurant opens onto a beautifully landscaped terrace that has views of downtown Manhattan, One World Trade Center and the Hudson River.

4. Mr. Purple- 180 Orchard St 15th floor, New York, NY 10002

Mr. Purple... it's sexy, it's cool, and it's hip. This rooftop terrace is a wonderful place for a group of friends to grab drinks with in the early evening. Because of its raving reviews, it gets very busy during peak hours, however there is usually plenty of seating and space. The beautiful pool is quite the attraction point and needless to say, adds the perfect aesthetic to this stylish location.

5. Good Behavior at MADE Hotel - 44 W 29th St, New York, NY 10001

Good Behavior is a stunning, tropical themed lounge on the 18th floor of the MADE Hotel. It has top-notch panoramic views of New York City and offers tasty, tiki-inspired cocktails. It is a quieter rooftop bar, not as overcrowded as some others, which is what makes it one of the best. You can enjoy your time and company without feeling overwhelmed by a crowd.

6. The Skylark- 200 W 39th St, New York, NY 10018

The Skylark is a "sky high," 30th-floor rooftop lounge, that has indescribable views of the city. They are known for their eclectic cocktail selection and glamorous views. While most coctails have a rather high cost, it is definitely worth the experience and should be added to your "go-to" list.

7. The Crown- 50 Bowery, New York, NY 10013

This Chinatown rooftop bar has incredible, sweeping views of the city. Their outdoor space was a bit crowded, so we chose to spend time in their indoor lounge. It's sleek and chic concept made it such a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

8. Refinery Rooftop- 63 W 38th St, New York, NY 10018

Refinery Rooftop is a great place to watch the sun set with an incredible view of the Empire State Building. While this location gets quite busy, it has great casual and chic vibes. It's definitely a top choice of mine for drinks after work or meeting up with friends.

9. Jimmy at the James- 15 Thompson St, New York, NY 10013

The Jimmy at the James is a trendy rooftop bar with a pool looking over the city- the main focal point being the One World Trade Center. During the day or at night will be quite the experience. My friends and I found ourselves a spot on the benches, enjoying our time with fabulous drinks, a bumpin' DJ, and a beautiful view of the city.

10. Serra by Berreria- 200 5th Avenue New York, NY 10010

This rooftop bar can be found on the 14th floor of Eataly in the Flatiron District. I decided to come here to check out the beautiful blooming greenhouse experience. Fun fact: I learned that 'Serra' means "greenhouse" in Italian, which makes makes sense as for the theme and ambiance of the place.
